This is Jason's gross popped hamstring injury. You'll never guess with all his different activities where he got such an injury..... softball. Apparently a guy was chasing him down trying to get an out and J's hammy popped. He finished the game and continued on with his activities the best he could. It wasn't until a week later that I asked , "What's that huge bruise?" The he realized how bad his injury really was.

Max had a busy week. He had his last baseball game of the season. Which he played really well. We were just getting the hang of this baseball stuff and now it is over. Saturday was a beautiful day for a baseball game. Max had great coaches that really helped Max learn the game.
Max also got some belt loops for scouts. He loves scouts. It too has come to an end for the summer. Rachel now has a break too for the summer, since she is the den mother. Good job Max you did a great job with all your activities this school year!

Jason's Birthday
Jason is now older! Don't look at the candles he's not even 30 yet, I don't think anyway. The kids were all very excited. Jason got a new camera which we hope to be taking better quality pictures with, maybe even compete with the Bergnewz bunch. Hopefully he had a great day, I attempted to make him a cake he would love.
The cake was a chocolate cake. The first layer was dug down into a hole in which to hold a crushed up scores bar, marshmallow creme/ cream cheese layer. Then the second layer was placed ontop. The chocolate icing had heath tidbits mixed in. And to top it off I put a heart of twix bar on top. It was best served cold, but it was very sweet and all and all a success!

Trip to Bend
We had a great time on our trip to Bend, OR. We had hoped for better weather for Memorial Day weekend but it rained most of the time. We still managed to find plenty to do, to come back more tired than when we left. Here is a picture of the kids in a little cave they found at Fort Rock. It was very unlike Jason and I to stray from the path to home to venture to something a bit out of the way (it added at least 2 hours onto our trip, but who's counting). We only had about 20 minutes before it started pouring rain. Since we did go out of our way we decided to trek around in the rain for a bit. Fort Rock really is worth the out of the way trip the kids loved it and we could have spent a lot longer there. It's basically an old volcano that's been worn away and is now a large rock formation that kind of looks like huge fort. The kids had a great time climbing around and exploring. The second picture is when we were in an actual lava cave, it was an out and back cave. Not quite as fun as a one way cave, go in one end come out another.
